	Bloc  [https://www.easternbloc.ca/]\n\n \n\nAs part of the HTMlles festiva
	l\, Eastern Bloc in collaboration with Ada X\ninvites you to a day of refl
	ection bringing together discussions and\ndemonstrations around feminist a
	pproaches to care\, ethical technology\, and\ndigital autonomy.  The day\,
	 with its main programming offered in hybrid format\,\nwill open with a co
	llective discussion exploring the connections between the\nprojects being 
	presented and the festival’s themes. This will be followed by a\npresentat
	ion of Cursors of Care\, a project led by artist Tricia Enns\, exploring\n
	how small creative gestures can infuse care and meaning into our everyday\
	ndigital spaces through the creation of personalized pixelated cursors and
	 icons.\nFollowing this will be a workshop led by Techtechtech on their pr
	oject To Weave\na Web: the Poetics of Opting Out\, featuring artists and r
	esearchers Liane\nDecary-Chen\, Marie LeBlanc Flanagan\, Sarah Choukah\, a
	nd Chanel Robin. They will\ninvite us to reflect on ways to divest from te
	ch giants and imagine ethical\,\nsustainable\, and community-centered tool
	s.  The day will close with an in-person\ngathering for those who can join
	 us on-site\, with the opportunity to build your\nown mini server in a mic
	ro-workshop.\n\n \n\nCursors of Care is a project by artist Tricia Enns ex
	ploring how personal care\nand memory intersect with digital systems\, par
	ticularly for queer\, feminist\,\nBIPOC\, and/or (dis)abled communities. T
	he project invites people to create\npixelated cursors and icons using fre
	e online tools like Pixel Art and Online\nCursor Maker\, based on playful 
	symbols or objects of care. These can be imagined\nor digital representati
	ons of physical objects. Through basic CSS integration\,\nthese custom cur
	sors can be added to personal websites\, turning them into\nplayful persis
	tent reminders to care for themselves and others while navigating\nour dai
	ly digital worlds.\n\n \n\nTo Weave a Web is a workshop exploring the logi
	stics and poetics of divesting\nfrom tech giants. It is led by the Techtec
	htech team (Marie LeBlanc Flanagan\,\nLiane Décary-Chen\, Sarah Choukah) a
	nd Chanel Robin. Attendees will receive a\ncopy of the zines Ada X and Tec
	htechtech released in 2022\, which will structure\nthe flow of this activi
	ty.  During this workshop\, we will unravel what\ntechnology feels like\, 
	and what we want it to be instead. Following the Tech &\nTarot zine\, we w
	ill begin moving towards divestment through a journaling style\napproach t
	hat addresses the emotional and practical challenges of migrating\ntechnol
	ogical landscapes. We will end with a discussion on what ethical\,\ncommun
	ity centred\, digital tools or practices have worked for us so far\, and\n
	what we are imagining for the future of local feminist tech activism.  Com

	y and\ncollective resistance to extractive tech systems! Note that the wor
